Welcome to Marion

Welcome from the Mayor

As Mayor of the Town of Marion, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our town's website. As you browse the site, you will find information on the history of our town, community events, and much more. On our website, you will also find office hours, town meeting dates and minutes, online utility and traffic payments, and a gallery of photos.

We're excited about our progress! We have a beautiful Gazebo Park on Main Street and a spacious walking trail on Stewart Street. Marion enjoys many conveniences often found in larger municipalities. We have a medical center, bank, churches, pharmacy/boutique, dollar stores, convenience stores, cafes, tire center, auto parts business, Brightspeed, Lumen, and more. Marion was established in 1832 and is recognized as one of the oldest towns in Union Parish. The Hopkin's House (circa 1850) is a historic treasure and operates as a Bed & Breakfast.

Marion and our surrounding communities are well known to be a sportsman's paradise destination. It's a great place to live, with warm and inviting residents. We're striving to keep that small town charm while providing larger town amenities. Whenever you have a minute, an hour, or a day, come visit us in Marion.

We'll make you feel right at home!

Warm regards,

Mayor Danny A. Smith
